The World Superbike Championship is a sporting event with a high profile worldwide; it is the third most popular motor sport after Formula 1 and MotoGP. The event is well attended, especially by people from Spain, and is growing fast in popularity. The championship is a truly global event which visits the most prestigious circuits in the world and involves major motor cycling and consumer goods markets worldwide. A key part of the Algarve Autodrome’s strategy for becoming an international landmark, there will be 70 hours of broadcasts on Eurosport International and Eurosport 2, with the highlight being the live broadcast of the race on the Sunday.
